Artist Biography

Alison Binks is a contemplative artist who methodically works through the development of each painting she creates most often using a pallette knife to apply layer upon layer of paint to the surfaces she selects. With subtle change of colour and tone Binks' works convey a serenity and calm to the viewer as well altering one's focus to pay more attention to the subjects she chooses, the ocean, rivers and sky. Binks has traveled widely and exhibited on numerous occasions in New York and also in the United Kingdom where she undertook an artist residency in Kent. Binks’ first exhibited with Kick Gallery in 2010 and will again exhibit with Kick in May 2012.
