At first glance RRB3,s abstract mixed media works look like experiments in minimalism but with longer viewing the artists practice reveals figuration, totem, words and objects examining themes such as identity, contemporary belief systems, the outmoded object, the artist and the marginalized, isolated, outsider figure.
RRB3’s art doesn't transmit straight forward messages, it is preoccupied with accumulations of narrative, the interplay between meanings and memory and shifting boundaries between the real and fictional. This work in all mediums is always a combination of deliberation and control combined with improvisation, spontaneity and the accidental. A kind of alchemy in which discarded or found objects are imbued with a new meaning or power and a compositional concern with experiments in form and colour.
