Catherine Campbell has exhibited at Kick Gallery on numerous occasions since 2006. Catherine’s suite of works in this show are created using a very fine steel tip pen as well as the addition of watercolour washes and paper collage. Most of the ideas behind her work come from observing everyday moments that she then spins into a whimsical narrative.
Catherine has exhibited in various galleries both in Australia and the U.S., she is currently part of ‘La Femme’, a female group show at Nucleus Gallery, Los Angeles. She has also featured in various publications, most recently these include Frankie magazine, Kingbrown magazine, Elle Girl (Korea), The Age, and Curvy (an annual book released by Yen magazine featuring 100 female artists and illustrators from around the world).
Catherine gets quite obsessive about all the little details and ends up sitting for hours and hours drawing many tiny lines. Catherine does like working in a series as she has a habit of thinking in multiples of four, sometimes five.
