Catherine Campbell

The Owl in the Attic Swallowed the Moon

In recent years Catherine Campbell has developed a strong following for the whimsical works that she creates. Using pen, ink, paper collage and a variety of other delicate materials, Campbell's intricately detailed and highly imaginative images reflect her love of nature, pattern, symbolism and narrative. Having exhibited in a number of group exhibitions at Kick Gallery since March 2007 The Owl in the Attic has Swallowed the Moon represents a significant step for Campbell as she takes over the entire front room of Kick exclusively for her own work.

Catherine Campbell studied art at the College of Fine Arts (Sydney) and has exhibited in various galleries both in Australia and the United States. Catherine’s work has appeared in publications including Frankie magazine, Curvy, We Are The Image Makers, Kingbrown magazine, Vogue Girl Korea and The Age. In 2008 she was part of the Poketo Australian series and has recently worked with Billabong and Vans on customised products and t-shirt design.
